FDA-approved stainless steel plate is highly resistive to wet environments and most chemicals. Steel decking provides easy wash down and is commonly used in foodservice and other FDA-regulated applications. Steel plate is commonly accompanied by another flooring surface.

Fiberglass decking is a good choice where chemical or non-conductivity properties are required. Fiberglass does not rust or contaminate, and can be immersed in water and easily washed down. The color finish will never “chip off” and will always retain its attractive appearance.

Solid, smooth plywood is a durable, economical choice suitable for many applications. Plywood provides an excellent surface for foot traffic and lighter cart traffic, and is also an excellent underlayment for carpeting or tile.

Mezz-Tread® from Sylvan industries is an extremely durable, high-performance polyethylene overlay decking. It is manufactured with a high-grade veneered, OSB, or composite resin substrate, which provides an attractive, long-lasting, slip-resistant, low-maintenance surface suitable for use around heavy pallet jacks and forklifts. Mezz-Tread® is inert to most chemicals, and has a low-stick quality that makes it easy to clean.

Concrete decking is ideal for fire-rated and/or chemical resistant applications. Concrete is the strongest and most durable mezzanine surface available, and is a good choice when high point loading and capacity is required. Its density minimizes noise transmission.

Perforated decking acts as a fire baffle while allowing water from overhead sprinklers to drain to the levels below. Also has the ability to contain material which might fall through an open deck to another level.

A strong and economical alternative, serrated decking allows for air movement, light, and water from overhead sprinklers to pass through the surface. Serrated decking is non-combustible, and provides excellent traction for foot traffic.
